In the last half century, golf has evolved into perhaps one of the most over-taught sports. Allow me to explain the term "over-taught." I was introduced to some very valuable information by some of golf's finest educators in some of my previous PGA training. I learned that there are 5 ball flight laws, 14 principles, and a countless amount of preferences. Many teachers, including the greats, tend to talk about their own set of preferences. In reality, these preferences may work well for that particular individual, but can they work effectively for everyone else? The laws and principles on the other hand, are permanent and unchanging. They are common among successful players and professionals, while misunderstood and misinterpreted among novices and most amateurs.

I believe it is important for golfers to understand the fundamental truth that remains to this day, what I believe to be the common denominator in successful golfers. This is simply their ability to "feel" the swing and follow a mental process over and over again to achieve a desired outcome. Accomplished players tap into this feel by encompassing the power of singular thinking. Unfortunately, the overwhelming effect of focus on too many thoughts at once can destroy the natural flow and balance of even the most talented golfer.

I teach my students to learn from every single experience. They have an entirely different mind set than many other students of the game. Therefore, they tend to develop themselves without the aid of an instructor. They are dedicated to the moving balance of their hands and as a result, are much less "distracted" than most other golfers. Isn't it amazing how the conscious mind delivers a message to the subconcious mind in all everyday actions that take place during the course of our lives? Simple actions such as opening a door, turning off a light, using a pen to write your name are all closely related to swinging a golf club. The secret is "don't make it more than that."

Through my career, I have continuously learned from some of the best instructors and players in the industry, with Eben Dennis having probably the most profound influence. Eben was fortunate enough as a young man to be learn some of golf's most well-kept secrets from the likes of Ben Hogan, Jimmy Demaret and Jack Burke. He was kind and gratious enough to share their secrets and his insight with me.
